your controller on to test each station for 1-2 minutes and walk
around your yard to visually check things out. |

Perform Periodic Irrigation System Checks for:
Leaks:
Pipe Leaks -- look
for water that surfaces or creates wet spots
Weeping Valves
Stations / Zones:
Proper design of
hydrozones -
[Grass
& Flower beds have different watering needs and efforts should
be taken to have them in a separate zone(s).]
Proper selection of
heads per hydrozone
Distribution
Uniformity -- not all systems or stations are created equal
Heads:
Proper spacing for
"head-to-head" coverage
Broken, leaking,
low, misaligned, obstructed, or tilted
Nozzles:
Broken and/or
clogged nozzles
Overspray, wrong
pattern or trajectory, or poor coverage
Pressure:
High or low pressure
Misting
Test:
Existing Rain &
Freeze Sensor or have one installed
Controller manual
operation
Valves open & close
completely and properly
Controller Settings:
Proper Date & Time
Watering Cycle
Scheduling
Appropriate Watering
Check or replace
your controller backup battery
